On behalf of our client iMotions, we are looking for a Software engineer with experience in fullstack web development.
iMotions is a biometric sensor software platform company, headquartered in central Copenhagen, Denmark with offices in Boston, Berlin & Singapore. iMotions develops and markets iMotions Biometric Research Platform, which is the most comprehensive, easy to use and scalable biosensor and eye tracking software platform available in the market today.
iMotions are currently implementing a mobile extension to our existing biometric research platform. The first version of the platform will be used to run two studies:
- One on patients with epilepsy
- One on autism
You will be part of a small team implementing a prototype of the distributed system to be used in these two studies.
Your focus will be the development of a web API which can receive time series data and a web application allowing researchers to define and manage their research studies. As a greenfield project, you will help decide on the architecture and technologies used. We anticipate using Java, Kotlin, React, and TypeScript, so experience with those technologies is a plus. However, the capability of rapidly adopting to new technologies is pivotal to succeed in the role.
You hold a bachelor or master’s degree in software engineering (or similar) and have several years of experience with software development. You have many projects on your track-record, and perhaps you have even acted as unofficial tech-lead and/or architect in some cases.

Most importantly, you are motivated and capable of driving a project from scratch.

iMotions Biometric Research Platform is a plug-and-play software platform that makes it possible for researchers to synchronize and analyze physiological data from a variety of biometric sensors, including GSR devices, EEG headsets, eye trackers, webcams for facial expression analysis, and numerous other innovative biometric sensors.
The platform is used in many different areas such as healthcare, usability research, market research, educational research, and training of professionals. The software has been sold to clients in more than 50 countries and is used by major brands, corporations, and universities such as Harvard University, Stanford University, MIT, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson and GlaxoSmithKline.
